FAQ

Questions about newsreaders

What we are asked most about setup.

Which newsreader is right for me?
For most people SABnzbd: open source, free, runs in the browser and almost sets itself up. On a NAS or Raspberry Pi take NZBGet, because it barely uses any resources. If you speak Dutch and want to start immediately, Spotnet is the quickest.
Do the programs cost anything?
No. SABnzbd, NZBGet and Spotnet are free, and the first two are open source as well. You only pay for your Usenet access with us.
What do I have to enter in the newsreader?
The server address, port 563 with TLS/SSL, your username and your password – it is all in the e-mail you get after ordering. Set the connections to 100, which is our maximum.
Does it run on my NAS too?
Yes. SABnzbd and NZBGet are available for Synology, QNAP, Unraid and most other systems. NZBGet is the lighter choice there.
Do I have to unpack files myself?
No. SABnzbd, NZBGet and Momentum repair and unpack automatically. Only with GrabIt do you do more yourself – in return you have more control.
Do I also need an indexer?
With SABnzbd, NZBGet and GrabIt yes – there you find the NZB files elsewhere and hand them to the program. Spotnet and Momentum have search built in already.
What if the setup does not work?
Write to us. Our team knows every program listed here and will set it up with you – in English, Dutch, German, French or Spanish.
